<p style="text-align: center"><a href="http://gongyi.homeofhope.org/photos/photo/1456477578/DSC06985.html"><img src="http://farm2.static.flickr.com/1052/1456477578_8e4f86c33c.jpg" alt="DSC06985" border="0" height="375" width="500" /></a></p>
<p>Well it was time for our babies to have their first vaccinations. This is always heart wrenching for us since they always cry and cry&#8230; and the strange thing is they get over it so much faster than we do. Above is <a href="http://gongyi.homeofhope.org/2007/08/30/we-named-him-daniel-xiong-qi/" target="_blank">Daniel Xiong Qi</a> who was abandoned outside our gate not long ago. You can read about his arrival by clicking on his name.</p>
<p><a href="http://gongyi.homeofhope.org/photos/photo/1455605887/DSC06981.html"><img src="http://farm2.static.flickr.com/1037/1455605887_d108e2b506_m.jpg" alt="DSC06981" class="left" border="0" height="180" width="240" /></a> So the Nursery Nannies and three other house mothers loaded up the little ones and off we went to the hospital. This trip included six of the babies. The five ladies carried the five little ones and Hai Tao, our driver, took care of little <a href="http://gongyi.homeofhope.org/our-children/beau-xiong-zhuang/" class="kblinker" target="_blank" title="More about Beau &raquo;">Beau</a> except while he was actually getting the shot. Hai Tao didn&#8217;t want any part of that so he let one of the house mothers hold Beau and he went outside the room.</p>
<p><a href="http://gongyi.homeofhope.org/photos/photo/1455619299/DSC06996.html"><img src="http://farm2.static.flickr.com/1390/1455619299_1296b9890f_m.jpg" alt="DSC06996" class="right" border="0" height="180" width="240" /></a> The first one to get her shot was Dawn <a href="http://gongyi.homeofhope.org/our-children/dawn-xiong-chen/" class="kblinker" target="_blank" title="More about Xiong Chen &raquo;">Xiong Chen</a>. She looked so innocent and un-expecting.</p>
<p><a href="http://gongyi.homeofhope.org/our-children/dawn-xiong-chen/" class="kblinker" target="_blank" title="More about Dawn &raquo;">Dawn</a> is a crier anyway and when she got her shots she let the whole world know she didn&#8217;t like it and she sure wasn&#8217;t happy!<br />
<br clear="all" /><br />
<a href="http://gongyi.homeofhope.org/photos/photo/1456487458/DSC06998.html" class="tt-flickr"><img src="http://farm2.static.flickr.com/1165/1456487458_7529ddd793_m.jpg" alt="DSC06998" border="0" height="180" width="240" /></a> <a href="http://gongyi.homeofhope.org/photos/photo/1455622105/DSC07000.html" class="tt-flickr"><img src="http://farm2.static.flickr.com/1397/1455622105_2bb9e966dc_m.jpg" alt="DSC07000" border="0" height="180" width="240" /></a><br clear="all" /><br />
For some reason the hospital (they keep copies of all our children&#8217;s records) felt Dawn needed two shots so first she got one shot in the left arm and then one in the right! We realized then that maybe she was going to be a singer in the Chinese Opera&#8230; she can really let herself be heard!<br clear="all" /><br />
<a href="http://gongyi.homeofhope.org/photos/photo/1456490924/DSC07002.html" class="tt-flickr"><img src="http://farm2.static.flickr.com/1188/1456490924_16d69446bb_m.jpg" alt="DSC07002" border="0" height="180" width="240" /></a> <a href="http://gongyi.homeofhope.org/photos/photo/1456492724/DSC07004.html" class="tt-flickr"><img src="http://farm2.static.flickr.com/1227/1456492724_b1b6f4d1be_m.jpg" alt="DSC07004" border="0" height="180" width="240" /></a> Next it was little Beau <a href="http://gongyi.homeofhope.org/our-children/beau-xiong-zhuang/" class="kblinker" target="_blank" title="More about Xiong Zhuang &raquo;">Xiong Zhuang</a>&#8216;s turn. Beau is a very curious little fellow and likes to see everything that is going on around him.</p>
<p>He was real curious as he watched the nurse get the syringe ready. He didn&#8217;t flinch one bit as the tip of the needle pricked his skin, and not even when the shot was over. But, he too had to have a second one and when the nurse began to ready the second injection, he attempted to match Dawn with his demonstration of how much he did NOT like what what was happening!<br clear="all" /><br />
<a href="http://gongyi.homeofhope.org/photos/photo/1456478824/DSC06989.html" class="tt-flickr"><img src="http://farm2.static.flickr.com/1242/1456478824_ce4df20e08_m.jpg" alt="DSC06989" border="0" height="180" width="240" /></a> <a href="http://gongyi.homeofhope.org/photos/photo/1455613753/DSC06990.html" class="tt-flickr"><img src="http://farm2.static.flickr.com/1402/1455613753_28b7507c45_m.jpg" alt="DSC06990" border="0" height="180" width="240" /></a><br />
Then came everyone&#8217;s favorite&#8230;. <a href="http://gongyi.homeofhope.org/our-children/rachel-xiong-xin/" class="kblinker" target="_blank" title="More about Rachel &raquo;">Rachel</a> <a href="http://gongyi.homeofhope.org/our-children/rachel-xiong-xin/" class="kblinker" target="_blank" title="More about Xiong Xin &raquo;">Xiong Xin</a> (above left). Rachel is due to have surgery to correct her cleft lip and cleft palate as quickly as we can raise the funds. She is one of the most cheerful babies with a tremendous disposition and outgoing personality. If you would like to know more about the funding for her surgery and three others that are needed <strong><em>now</em></strong> you can see more information on our <a href="http://gongyi.homeofhope.org/our-current-needs/" target="_blank">Current Needs Page</a>.</p>
<p>Then it was time for <a href="http://gongyi.homeofhope.org/our-children/jacob-xiong-tian/" class="kblinker" target="_blank" title="More about Jacob &raquo;">Jacob</a> <a href="http://gongyi.homeofhope.org/our-children/jacob-xiong-tian/" class="kblinker" target="_blank" title="More about Xiong Tian &raquo;">Xiong Tian</a>! Mr. Superman! Jacob has been the picture of health since he arrived (abandoned at our gate). He is strong, physically adept beyond his age and everyone is amazed at him&#8230;. and as would be expected, when he got his shot it was like, &#8220;What is all this commotion about?&#8221;&#8230; and after the second one&#8230; &#8220;Hey&#8230; that wasn&#8217;t bad at all!&#8221;<br />
<br clear="all" /><br />
<a href="http://gongyi.homeofhope.org/photos/photo/1455629467/DSC07007.html" class="tt-flickr"><img src="http://farm2.static.flickr.com/1167/1455629467_207fb0353f_m.jpg" alt="DSC07007" border="0" height="180" width="240" /></a> <a href="http://gongyi.homeofhope.org/photos/photo/1455627449/DSC07005.html" class="tt-flickr"><img src="http://farm2.static.flickr.com/1204/1455627449_6ba1d357b1_m.jpg" alt="DSC07005" border="0" height="180" width="240" /></a><br />
Finally, it was back home again&#8230; Content, maybe a little confused about what just happened but quickly, this so traumatic episode, was sliding deep into the abyss of forgotten nightmares! (Beau on the left and Rachel on the right.)</p>
<p>Another day at the Home of Hope!</p>
